1. Steps To Take Before, On and After Election Day

Sadly, no one can assure that elections will go smoothly, or even that our electronically-recorded votes will actually be tallied as we indicate. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to be done on Election Day. Quite the contrary. Your vigilance is needed more than ever, as is the participation of every citizen in this deeply flawed system.

Mark Crispin Miller has offered his thoughts on how all of us might make the best of it on November 7. There are some excellent ideas there, along with an important call for support of an independent exit polling initiative that needs full funding.

2. “Jersey Girls” Spur New Petition Drive

Some prominent 9/11 victims’family members are demanding the declassification of documents pertaining to the “out of the ordinary” July 10, 2001 meeting between then-CIA chief George Tenet and then-National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice. The meeting reportedly concerned “the increasingly dire warnings of an imminent al Qaeda attack within the U.S,” and has been reported on for the first time by Bob Woodward in his recent book, “State of Denial.”

We fully support and strongly admire their continuing fight for answers. The ‘Jersey Girls’ are asking supporters to sign their petition at: http://www.petitiononline.com/july10/petition.html

3. Broadening the Article Base at 911truth.org (and new web site upgrade, too)

We’ve made a host of significant improvements to the layout of our site, www.911truth.org, and you will also notice that our front page has recently been home to a number of articles on subjects other than 9/11.

Given the seriousness of the political situation in the US and the continuing assault on civil liberties and the rule of law, you can be sure we will continue to host articles we judge to be politically important. As always, we welcome your submissions and suggestions for stories, research and articles to link to.

3a. Military Commission Act Redux

We agree with the call issued by our friends at World Can’t Wait: we cannot count on a “pendulum swing” to fix the deteriorating political situation in this country. We hope you will agree that with the passing of the Military Commissions Act, practicing resistance of some kind every day has become an imperative. We must signal our strength, our commitment and our unwillingness to rest until this country has been returned to a legitimate rule.

If you still have not familiarized yourself with the Military Commissions Act, a recent article by Jennifer Van Bergen brings home its terrifying implications for citizens and aliens alike.

4. South Park Does 9/11 Conspiracy (in their own inimitable way)

A recent South Park episode took 9/11 skepticism as one of its subjects. 911truth.org was featured prominently, though not favorably, according to one of our steering committee who was disappointed with the episode. But not everyone felt that way. The article generated a ton of reader feedback, most of which thought the show’s portrayal was not so one-sided.

5. Events Update

a. The 911truth.org calendar is chock full of upcoming events across the nation (please post yours there, too), headlined by the Colorado 911 Visibility events planned for Oct 28-29. The program is entitled The Science of 9/11, the Suppression of Dissent, and a Nation in Crisis: Scholars for 9/11 Truth Speak Out

On Saturday, October 28, the program will be held at Davis Auditorium, Sturm Hall at Denver University from 2-6 pm. On Sunday, October 29, the program will be held at the Math Auditorium of University of Colorado at Boulder from 2-6 pm.

b. Project Censored and Peter Phillips will host the first annual Media Accountability Conference, at Sonoma State University on November 3 & 4, 2006. The event will provide a forum for our award-winning authors to present the important stories missed by the mainstream over the past year.

The program will also provide an opportunity for journalists, academics and the "viewing public" to look at how information is controlled and shaped, to identify where the system breaks down, and to brainstorm strategies for launching new mainstream media and updating the journalistic paradigm that exists today.

The opening night keynote, 11/3, presented by physicist Steven E. Jones, will offer a critical and compelling perspective on some of the suppressed information regarding 9/11.

c. Here’s some inspiring audio from the well-attended September 24th KPFA event in Berkeley, CA in honor of the release of 9/11 and American Empire: Intellectuals Speak Out, edited by Peter Dale Scott and David Ray Griffin. The event featured remarks from Scott, Griffin, Kevin Ryan and Peter Phillips and was hosted by Ray McGovern.

d. Speaking of Peter Dale Scott, he’ll appear with The Terror Timeline author Paul Thompson on Friday, October 27 at 7:00 pm at the Spangenberg Theater in Gunn High School at 780 Arastradero Road in Palo Alto, CA.

There will be a showing of 9/11 Press For Truth as well, the story of the 9/11 victims family members’ struggle for an honest investigation (one many still clamor for), and documents their dissatisfaction with the failure of the 9/11 commission.

6. Help Politics911 Pick Up Steam!

Politics911 has identified a list of 9/11 truth candidates, which has now been posted at the home page. Please consider supporting these candidates with your time and money, to help get the 9/11 truth message out and put truthtellers in office. There is still time to poll your own candidates—details and materials are linked at the Politics911 banner. We know other candidates exist but are missing from that list--please send us their info. Please help us poll the remaining candidates immediately and forward this action plan far and wide - elections are just 3 weeks away! We have now made the process much simpler--read on.

The goal: Every candidate for federal office this year is asked to go "on the record" regarding 9/11 and the need for a new investigation by responding to a questionnaire delivered by his/her constituents. We are finding a few out there willing to actually represent the nearly 50% of their constituents who want a new investigation - are your state's candidates among those? Time to put the "Represent" back in Representative!!

Specifically, we need your help to poll every congressional candidate in the country on their understanding of 9/11 truth, its relation to current domestic & foreign crises, and their support for an independent new inquiry. The campaign will then highlight promising 9/11 truth supporters and try to promote their election.

We obviously cannot do this without a lot people taking part -- in groups or individually, but there are now over 12,000 "Justice for 9/11" signers and only about 1,200 candidates, so this is certainly doable if you help.

Helping with this historic initiative can be both easy and fun -- often rare attributes in grassroots 9/11 land -- and have an enormous lasting impact to boot.

All you have to do is:

b) Get contact information for candidates you want to poll at 911truthgroups.org's Candidate List page,

c) Mail/email/deliver the poll with 9/11 truth literature to each campaign (see Politics 911 Briefing Resources ), poll the candidate(s), report back the results to us for posting, and send links to your audio or video files if bird-dogging was involved.
