Secretary-General Condemns Deadly Attack On Bus In Iran

New York, Feb 14 2007

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today condemned the deadly bombing in Iran that killed at least 18 people and wounded many more, reiterating that no cause can justify “terrorist violence.”

“The Secretary-General condemns the terrorist attack on a bus in the southeastern city of Zahedan carrying Iranian security officers, which killed at least 18 people and wounded many more,” his spokesperson said in a statement issued at UN Headquarters in New York.

“He reiterates that no cause can justify the use of terrorist violence,” the statement added.

Mr. Ban also extended condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Iran.
