Burma: Junta Jail Rangoon Abbot
The abbot of
Zantila Rama monastery, in Rangoon, has been sentenced to a
two year prison term. He was convicted of defamation after
complaining about the seizure of money from the monastery
during a raid by government security forces in early
October.
He was disrobed and given a two-year prison
sentence at the end of November.
