Getting Data Faster: a New Australasian Paradigm
Getting Data Faster: a New Australasian
Paradigm
Three internationally recognized Australasian contract research companies aim to expand their global market share by joining forces to attract biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device companies to Australia and New Zealand.
Clinical Network Services (CNS) and CPR Pharma Services (CPR) based in Brisbane and Adelaide, Australia, respectively, and BELTAS™, in Auckland, New Zealand, have formed a strategic partnership, named Trialliance.
Trialliance will launch its new brand Fast2First™ at BioEurope 2010 in Munich 15-17 November. CNS CEO and founder Prof Tony (AJ) Webber says the partnership will allow companies to take advantage of the regulatory systems of Australia and New Zealand.
“The start up and execution of clinical trials is a critical milestone for many companies in our target markets, such as the USA and Europe. The formation of Trialliance and the launch of Fast2First™ will enable them to complete these phases more quickly,” he says.
“Our region is best-placed globally to conduct clinical trials that deliver results to the highest quality in a timeline unparalleled in the traditional clinical centres in the Northern Hemisphere.”
Gerard Dunne, BELTAS™ Managing Director says alignment of the three companies will add tremendous value for all clients as each is driven by very similar philosophies regarding customer service.
“Each of us has core areas of strength. We will be leveraging this depth and diversity, and matching our competencies with our countries’ pragmatic regulatory systems. This will add tangible value, particularly in early phase human testing, where we help our clients to realise faster go or no-go decisions.”
Jason Valentine CPR Pharma Services CEO says partnerships in the contract research industry are becoming more prevalent and the launch of Trialliance is a perfect example of why. “I look forward to growth of all three companies as a result of the expanded services this partnership provides.”
Fast2First™ has access to a network of Phase 1 units, clinics and hospitals across two countries and a suite of services unmatched in the region for clinical trials.
The combination of clinical and data management services coupled with a GLP bio-analytical laboratory means the Fast2First™ service can deliver a suite of services. These can take a company seamlessly from initial first-in-human trials through to phase 3, the final clinical trials needed for commercialisation, with a single point of contact and one master service agreement.
“This kind of relationship efficiency and decreased administrative burden is increasingly demanded by companies which to date have had to look to larger, global CROs (Contract Research Organisations) to achieve this”, noted Russell Neal, Chief Operating Officer at CNS.
“When coupled with the fundamental regulatory advantages in the region, Fast2First™presents a refreshing refocus on the needs of biotech, pharma and device firms as the markets recover from the investment crunch of the last two years”.
