Sarbi the dog in quarantine

Sarbi the dog in quarantine

Sarbi the Special Operations Explosive Detection Dog is six days in to her 30-day stay at AQIS' quarantine facility at Eastern Creek.

Sarbi returned to Australia last Thursday on a regular Defence sustainment flight.

After the 30-day quarantine period, Sarbi will return to the Incident Response Regiment where she'll be assessed for suitability to return for further service in Australia.

Sarbi went missing during an engagement between insurgents and Coalition troops in Afghanistan in September 2008.

Thirteen months later, in October last year, she was returned to Australian forces and has spent the past year receiving veterinary treatment and quarantined in preparation for her return home.
