From Northland to Manawatu, also for Bay of Plenty and the central plateau: A mix of showers and fine periods.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Brief showers spreading east at times, clearing later this morning and becoming fine.

Wellington: Remaining showers clearing and becoming fine.

Nelson and Marlborough: Remaining showers clearing from Marlborough this morning otherwise fine.

South Island west coast: Rain or showers for much of the time.

Canterbury and Otago: Rain clearing this morning then becoming mostly fine.

Southland: Patchy rain clearing this morning then fine periods increasing.

Chatham Islands: Dull with further rain.
