Weather Workshop: Short forecast for NZ

Short Forecast valid to midnight tonight:

For the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Taranaki, Showery with a few isolated thunderstorms possible about Northland and Auckland later.

Bay of Plenty and the central high country: Outbreaks of rain until afternoon then a few showers. Heavy falls possible this morning about Bay of Plenty.

Wanganui to Wellington also for Nelson and the South Island West coast: Showery.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Rain this morning then easing to showers during the afternoon.

For Marlborough and Canterbury: A few showers inland today. Rain at times about the Kaikoura coast.

Otago, and Southland: Drizzly rain about the coast. Showers inland with snow to the ranges

Chatham Islands: Cloud increasing with rain developing later.
