Short Forecast valid to midnight tonight:

The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Wellington, also for the central high country: Showers and fine periods.

Bay of Plenty: Rain becoming confined to the eastern ranges tonight. Tomorrow mainly fine.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Mainly fine about Wairarapa, elsewhere outbreaks of rain continuing until tonight. Tomorrow fine.

Nelson and the South Island west coast: Showers less frequent tomorrow.

Marlborough and Canterbury: A few showers about Marlborough today otherwise fine apart from cloudy periods. Tomorrow showers becoming widespread later.

Otago, and Southland: Rain persisting about the south coast today, elsewhere cloudy. Tomorrow showers becoming general.

Chatham Islands: Rain from tonight continuing for much of tomorrow.
