Weather Workshop: All Districts forecast for NZ

All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:

The Situation: A weak ridge should move off the North Island today as
a northerly flow strengthens over the South Island ahead of a trough
in the central Tasman Sea. An associated front is expected to advance
onto South Island areas later today. Near the Chatham Island a slow
moving low is likely to decay.

And now the forecast to midnight tonight:

NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND COROMANDEL PENINSULA, BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA
WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI, TAIHAPE, TAUPO, TARANAKI,
WANGANUI and MANAWATU: A mix of fine and cloudy periods in
most places today. The odd shower in western places at first
this morning. Northerlies developing this afternoon. Drizzle
developing after dark from Taranaki south this evening.

WELLINGTON: Becoming cloudy with freshening northerlies. Drizzle
patches likely from evening.

GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: A fine start for most. High
cloud increasing later but remaining dry. Light winds with
northwesterlies freshening about Wairarapa this afternoon.

NELSON: Fine at first then cloud increasing. Drizzle developing
this evening. Northerlies developing.

MARLBOROUGH: Fine apart from increasing high cloud. Northwest
winds.

BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Rain becoming widespread this
morning. Heavier falls likely from evening south of the glaciers.
Gusty north to northeast winds.

CANTERBURY and OTAGO: Areas of low cloud in many coastal places
this morning with a few patches of drizzle clearing. Elsewhere
early fog patches lifting. High cloud then increasing and rain
developing about the western ranges and main divide this afternoon. Northeasterlies about the coast today and northwesterlies inland.

SOUTHLAND: Cloudy with rain developing in the far west then
spreading east tonight. North to northeast winds.

CHATHAM ISLANDS: Rain easing to showers this morning. Northwest
winds.

THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Rain in most North Island places. Over
the South Island rain easing to showers along the west coast,
Nelson and in the far south. Brief rain likely in eastern areas
from Marlborough to Otago. At the Chathams Islands, Cloudy
with a few showers.
