Weather Workshop: All Districts forecast for NZ

All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:

The Situation: A southwest flow covers New Zealand. A cold front
in this flow is moving rapidly northeast and should cross the
country today.

And now the forecast to midnight tonight:

NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL PENINSULA, TAUPO, WAIKATO, WAITOMO,
TAUMARANUI, TARANAKI and TAIHAPE: A mix of fine and cloudy periods
with a few showers at times. Showers more frequent
from late afternoon and evening. Breezy southwesterlies.

BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA: Mainly fine and sunny with southwest winds.

WANGANUI and MANAWATU: Mostly fine at first. Cloud increasing this
Afternoon with a few showers spreading from the south. Light winds
tending southerly this afternoon.

WELLINGTON: Mainly fine this morning with northwest winds this
morning. A southerly change this afternoon with showers becoming
frequent for a time.

GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Fine apart from cloudy periods
at first. A southwest change reaching Wairarapa this afternoon and
Gisborne towards evening. The change brings showers and colder
temperatures.

NELSON: Brief showers this afternoon otherwise fine with southwest
winds.

MARLBOROUGH: A period of showers working north about the middle
of the day then clearing inland this evening. Southwest winds
developing with the change.

CANTERBURY: Fine and frosty at first this morning. Cold southwest
winds developing about midday with showers and some snow
to 400 metres later in the day.

BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Cloudy with showers at times.
Southwest winds. Longer fine breaks towards evening.

OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Cold and showery with some hail and sleet.
Snow about Southland to 200 metres and to 300 metres about Otago.
Southwest winds strong and gusty in many places, especially about
the coast.

CHATHAM ISLANDS: Rain easing to showers this morning with
northwesterlies turning southwesterlies. Rain setting in again
towards midnight with much colder
Southwesterlies developing.

THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Showers in many areas of both islands
but about eastern places long fine periods. Showery and cold at
the Chathams.
