Pike River Coal Mine - Explosion
Location: West Coast
District: Tasman
Emergency services are currently attending an incident at the Pike River Coal Processing Plant in Atarau which is about half way between Greymouth and Reefton.
There have been reports of an explosion around 4.30 pm this afternoon.and there are people known to be in the mine. No further details are available at this time and Police will update the Media Release as soon as information becomes available.
