Israel Rally in Hastings

Israel Rally in Hastings

Today (13 May) a public Rally in Celebration & Support for the State of Israel upon its 70 birthday is being held at 2:00 PM at the Hastings City Centre at the Town Clock. The rally will be a Kiwi celebration of Israel with hip-hop and island dance, and Kapa-Haka etc. We will speak into some of the important issues surrounding Israel. It will involve the cutting of a birthday cake decorated in the form of an Israeli flag, and the releasing of 70 helium filled balloons (each with Israeli flag & “Celebrating 70 years” printed thereon).

The rally will run for one hour. Weather permitting we are expecting a decent crowd (200+)

Monday the 14th May is the 70th anniversary of Israel’s declaration of Independence. Therefore this celebration on the 13th is likely to be the first in the world (outside of Israel) for those who are celebrating Israel’s statehood and independence on the Gregorian calendar.

The Hastings rally is sponsored & run by the Flaxmere Christian Fellowship Church in Hastings and is supported by various organisations. Rally coordinator and spokesperson is Pastor Nigel Woodley.

Statement Ends.
