What relationship do you have with
your laundry basket?
A jungle lurks beneath our domestic lives and who better to hang it on the line than 12 local women and their words.
For two Friday nights only (Feb 9, Feb 16) these women will share poems, prose and their own unique adverts (buy your wild weathered disability here – two for the price of one!) as part of Fringe 07.
Brought together by their love of words seven years ago, these women are stepping out (some for the first time) in a punchy eclectic illuminating performance that you won’t want to miss.
Over 75 minutes the audience will see and hear a collage of writing on various themes – visibility and invisibility, walking on the wild-side, the art of being weathered and the quintessential domestic activity “doing the washing”.
This diverse group of women are all members of the Tangling with Tigers and Tulips writing workshops. Created and facilitated by Jamie Bull and Trish Harris, these workshops have always involved humour and imagination while never losing sight of reality.
“We’ve performed at Te Marae at Te Papa and at Poets Pub at the Angus Inn – now we’re delighted to be part of Wellington’s edgy Fringe Festival,” says Trish. “This has been our dream – to take words off the page – pegging them up in public view!”
