The Improvisors return to the Fringe for the first time in years with an improvised tribute to two things kiwis love – the kiwi camping holiday and soaps.
With summer holidays firmly ensconced in people’s memories The Improvisors explore the underbelly of the iconic kiwi motor camp in this brand new show.
The world of the camp store, communal washing facilities and the ever dangerous trampoline opens wide to the audience as salt-of the earth staff and long suffering locals deal with a parade of long-term guests and short term visitors.
The sunburn, the ham, the beer, the cards, the reciprocal barbequing and fishing trips meet the heady world of illicit affairs, long-term grudges, disguised parents, life-threatening illness and high drama that is the world of the soap opera.
And every show is unique and created with the help of the audience by The Improvisors, Wellington’s longest-running improvisation company.
For Fringe 2007 The Improvisors bring a cast of long-time pros such as Tim Gordon, Anna Kennedy, Ian Harcourt and Wellington Theatresports Champ and Improv Idle Tim Holloway-Jones to the stage. There they team up with exciting new talent such as David Hoskins, Andrew Kaye, Richard Falkner and a veteran from overseas in current World Theatresports Champion Derek Flores. With such a cast audiences can be sure that their suggestions will be in safe hands and used to create unforgettable comedy.
So get into shorts, flannel hats and sundresses, lather on the SPF 15 and get down to Circa Theatre for CAMP – where the comedy is in tents!
