It's all about choices baby.

6 shows a week, 3 shows per night, open 7 nights a week, BATS is the place to be this fringe. Check out all BATS shows running during the fringe festival here.

Mime, theatre of the absurd, dance, romance, comedy, and avante garde… you name we’ve got it. There’s something in here to satisfy all your theatrical cravings.

If you haven’t seen Buddha Boy yet, Tonight is your last night to catch this “Compelling…everyday tale” - Theatreview that opened last week.

Also you have only two more nights to catch A Mime to Kill which opened in the weekend.

Why should you watch The Skyrocketeers of Justice VS The Zombie Apocalypse, well check out the boys from the Chess club give their 10 reasons why you should see their show.

What you’ll find in BATS this week is practically an opening night, every night.

Self Portrait opens tomorrow night at 8pm. (note some guanos have a typo with an incorrect starting time of 9.30).

Opening on Wednesday night, The Binge Culture brings you Drowning Bird, Plummeting Fish.

Poly-Zygotic opens on Friday the 13th, but don’t let the date freak you out, this promises to be laugh a riot.

And opening on Saturday 14 February (Valentines Day) is Words Apart.

We are still selling fringe Addict cards, which means you can see BATS shows during Fringe for only $10 and also get specials at The Pit Bar and other outlet around town.

Keep this one on the down low, but word is that first 100 people to book and pay for their tickets for the show Once Upon a time in Aro valley, will receive a free coffee voucher.

An Absurd Comedy. Three average guys, living in Newtown become convinced their neighbours are Zombies (for no real reason). Will they rid the town of this threat, before they run out of material? Yes, yes they will. Or will they? Yes.

A Mime To Kill

Mime-raised triplets battle discrimination, fame and globo-economic recession. Then one dies. Did the economy kill this mime? Was it his brothers? Or was it the minotaur… The Premier Mime event of 2009, from the people that brought you Tap That!

Self Portrait

Tuesday 10 – Friday 13 February

Rita Angus is one of New Zealand’s most cherished artists, her self-portraits an inspiration to these solo works. With Self Portrait, each choreographer chose to be influenced by Rita’s works in different ways - come along and discover a new side to Rita’s works for yourself as they explode on to the stage for the first time.

Drowning Bird, Plumetting Fish

Words Apart

A powerful play combining two of our official languages - the verbal English language with the visual New Zealand Sign Language. Inspired by the love and hate themes of Romeo and Juliet, a young Deaf man struggles to find love in a predominantly hearing world.
