Satisfy the music loving creature within: come and enjoy the spectacle as seven of Wellington's finest musicians pounce, prowl and preen their way through a series of eclectic and energetic original compositions.

From 26th of February to the 1st of March, the 2+2=5 Ensemble will be performing music from their new album, In the Night, all the Cats are Grey. In keeping with the spirit of the Fringe festival, audiences can expect more than just music.

'Sophisticated music, with a theatrical twist,' is how producer Mike Kingston describes the show. 'Each musician will double as an actor, with a creaturely persona that might be anywhere from demure to dominating. Non-verbal, semi-scripted fun.'

'The overall concept is the idea of unique individuals coming together, forming a group, and then disintegrating back to individuality', he explains. 'Each musician/actor will have the chance to come to the foreground, and reveal their character to the audience.'

The music is largely instrumental, featuring cello, violin, baritone sax, clarinet, guitar, bass, and drums, with a few vocal songs thrown into the mix. Energetic and eclectic, the music draws on gypsy, jazz, classical and rock influences to create something new and genre-defying.

'We have created an exciting and original album,' Kingston enthuses, 'and our troupe of musical beasties look forward to sharing the music with Fringe audiences!'
