Grimy Teen Romance Swims From
Manila To Sydney To Wellington
Australian theatre-artist Blind presents grimy teen romance Sun Drugs at the BATS Theatre from 3-6 March as part of the New Zealand Fringe Festival. Set in Manila's flash-flooded streets, Sun Drugs follows the attempts of two hip brothers to transform a geeky loner into the prom queen before an epidemic wipes out the entire city.
Sun Drugs crams all the sweeping romance of the English Patient and the sassy banter of Mean Girls into 25 intense minutes and microwaves them. Part-theatre, part-science lecture and part DIY-vibrator making workshop, Sun Drugs will satisfy all the needs of your body and your mind.
Blind is Australian theatre-maker and poet David Finnigan. David's scripts have been produced by companies throughout Australia, the Philippines and the United States. As a poet, David was a finalist in the Australian National Poetry Slam in 2008 and has been featured at the National Young Writers Festival (Aus) and the New York Mercury Lounge Slam (USA).
Sun Drugs takes place as part of the New Zealand Fringe Festival.
