BAZAAR INTENTIONS:

CREATIVE HUB BUBBLES UP FROM THE SOUTH COAST

Welcome to Nautilus Studios.

Situated on the South Coast, mere metres from the breaking waves, an old diesel mechanics warehouse is the thriving workplace of over 17 visual artists and countless musicians. An artist-run cooperative, Nautilus will open its doors for one weekend during the New Zealand Fringe Festival to offer the public an art experience they will never forget!

• Visual Artists, from sculptors, painters and tattoo artists, to photographers and jewellers, will open up their studios to invite the public in for a look-see behind the scenes.

• Musicians and bands who rehearse and record in Nautilus’ music studio will provide live entertainment throughout the weekend and give people a taste of the musical magic that is created at Nautilus.

• Craft Artists and Jewellers will organise a Nautilus Market with stalls filled with treasures and treats.

• Children and the young at heart will be able to create a piece of art to add to our “wall in progress”: a work of art that changes and evolves to reflect the various people who have touched, shared and thus influenced the embodiment of this creative space.

This free event will be a chance for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the New Zealand Fringe Festival at its finest. A pocket of alternative art, Nautilus will provide an experience that is on the fringe, yet accessible to all, bringing people together in the spirit of Fringe.
