Assembly This week, New York hosted the United Nations General Assembly, and it has been a remarkable week for EU diplomacy, led by High Representative Federica Mogherini and other EU leaders. Many issues were adressed, with some very important results: Global Goals on Sustainable Developmenthave been adopted, the Iran Nuclear Deal is about to enter the implementation phase and the Middle East Quartet will resume its important work on the Peace Process. |

The money will provide emergency assistance to the most affected EU Member States, increase staffing at front line EU agencies, and provide assistance and humani-tarian aid in third countries. |

Australia and New Zealand are expected to link their willingness to compromise in such areas as biological drugs with market access concessions for their sugar and dairy industries respectively. NZ Agricultural trade envoy Mike Peterson is still not happy with dairy market access, while John Wilson (chairman Fonterra) is trying to push for an acceptable outcome on market access with the U.S., Canada and Japan. |
