Power outage Auckland City and Middlemore hospitals
The major power outage in Auckland has affected Auckland City and Middlemore hospitals.
The hospitals are currently running on emergency generators. Surgery has been cancelled however emergency departments continue to operate for emergencies only.
Those presenting to emergency departments with non urgent illnesses or injuries will be turned away.
Please see your GP or accident and medical clinic for any non urgent illnesses or injuries.
The Auckland City and Middlemore hospitals emergency management teams have begun to implement contingency plans.
North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals have not been affected by the power outage.
