Wellington got a taste of the big top this weekend as the Perilous circus festival hit Civic Square.
The event is believed to be the first of its kind for both Wellington and New Zealand. As well as seeing variety of circus-style and musical performances, onlookers had the chance to try out skills like juggling and the trapeze.
Circus will also be part of the coming Fringe Festival with the outdoor performance Gravity and Other Myths and also Suitcase Circus IV at the Newtown Community Centre.
