Personal Account of Christchurch Earthquake by
George McLellan
Canterbury University
Student
“I was sitting in the lecture theatre, heard a loud rumbling then a massive earthquake ensued. Intense shaking lasted for about 15-20 seconds. Power and internet went out immediately. People were screaming hiding under desks. University was then evacuated, 10 minutes later another large shake. Buildings and windows showing large cracks. Mobile phones difficult to use.”
