Budget Legislation Passes
Budget related legislation and a bill authorising the Government to spend money passed into law this evening.
After the dinner break MPs returned to the three hour second reading debate on the Appropriation (2012/13 Supplementary Estimates) Bill in conjunction with the second reading of the first Imprest Supply Bill for the year.
The two bills completed their second readings by 63 to 52 with National, Maori Party, ACT and Peter Dunne in favour. They were given their third readings without debate, which was completed by the same margin.
MPs began the second reading of the Taxation (Livestock Valuation, Assets Expenditure, and Remedial Matters) Bill.
