The End Is Nigh

Parliament’s final sitting week for the year will begin this afternoon.

After Question Time MPs are scheduled to vote on the second reading of the Appropriation (2012/13 Financial Review) Bill without debate and the second reading of the Subordinate Legislation (Confirmation and Validation) Bill (No 2) will be debated, with a vote on the third reading to follow immediately afterwards.

These bills will be followed by the first reading of the Taxation (Annual Rates, Employee Allowances, and Remedial Matters) Bill and the third reading of the Consumer Law Reform Bill split into five bills.

Parliament will sit on Wednesday morning to debate two Government motions. One to reappoint the Chair of the Electoral Commission and another regarding the rules around MPs attendance of Parliament.

All the remaining stages of the Royal Succession Bill and Mokomoko (Restoration of Character, Mana, and Reputation) Bill will be completed and a debate will be held on the Health Committee’s inquiry into improving child health outcomes and preventing child abuse.
