The Alcohol Reform Bill passed its first reading 114-3 with the ACT party splitting its votes and three MPs opposing.
It was sent to the Justice Select Committee for consideration.
The second reading debate of the Employment Relations Amendment Bill (No 2) was interrupted when Parliament rose at 6pm. It will sit again on November 16.
