Assistant Secretary for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs William R. Brownfield, will be traveling to Honduras, March 25-27, and Guatemala, March 27-28 to meet with senior government and civil society leaders to discuss citizen security and counternarcotic initiatives.
During his visit, Assistant Secretary Brownfield will take the opportunity to visit various project sites that have been funded through the Central America Regional Security Initiative (CARSI). In Honduras, he will visit a possible future location for the Model Precinct Program designed to help the police and community build relationships, and our Model Prison Program proposed to improve management and conditions within correctional facilities. In Guatemala, he will highlight ongoing bilateral efforts to stem crime and violence and visit communities that have embraced police-community partnerships.
