Residents can help Council and the recycling collection contractor by:
Ensuring that your recycling bin is placed at the kerbside by 7.00 am on collection day
Only put out your recycling bin when it is full
If you have extra recycling materials please spread the volume out over several weeks. Items in over-full bins can blow away and create litter
If you require another recycling bin ring the Council Call Centre on 262 5104
Check all plastic bottles from the kitchen, bathroom and laundry before putting them in your recycling bin. Only put bottles with a '1' or '2' on the base into your bin
Keep putting out other recycling items as normal, such as glass bottles, aluminium and tin cans, paper and cardboard
Beer cartons are not recyclable and cardboard boxes need to be flattened
For any enquiries about recycling collections please call the Manukau City Call Centre on 262-5104. The Call Centre operates every day throughout the holiday period, including statutory holidays.
