Commissioner Clears Manukau Pacific Events Centre
Response From Parliamentary Commissioner For The Environment
Manukau City Manager Colin Dale has received notification of a conclusion from the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment regarding the Pacific Events Centre, which is currently under construction on Great South Road beside Manukau City Centre.
The Commissioner’s Office was asked by a member of the public to examine whether the Council’s processes regarding two section 127 applications pertaining to the Centre warranted further investigation.
Mr Dale has been notified that the
Commissioner’s Office found the processes robust, met the
requirements of the Resource Management Act and did not put
at risk maintenance of the quality of the environment.
Accordingly, the Office will take no further action.
