Over 230 exhibitors from all around New Zealand will be showcasing a huge range of marine equipment including boats, boat design, electronics , chandlery, the latest innovations and technological developments at the 2007 Auckland International Boat Show.
Held over four days from 8th to 11th March 2007, adjacent to one of the southern hemisphere's biggest marinas , this exhibition will display the best of New Zealand's marine technology , engineering and innovation. Located at the beautiful Viaduct Harbour, the boat show will make use of the floating marina first developed as the base for the 2000 and 2003 America's Cups which links Te Wero Island and the Viaduct Harbour Marine Village.
Westhaven and its surrounds serve as the nerve centre for a marine industry worth an annual $1.8 billion. With stunning views out to the Hauraki Gulf and fringed by seaside restaurants , bars and world class hotels , this is the perfect location for the New Zealand marine industry to display their boats, boat equipment and services to New Zealand and international potential buyers, media, industry participants and boat users.
New Zealand's marine industry is diverse and interlinked. Built on both traditional skills and leading-edge innovation, New Zealand's boating industry is proof positive of the Kiwi business spirit and manufacturing know-how. In fact this year's annual survey, independently produced by Market Economics Ltd, shows that New Zealand's largest manufacturing sector is 20% larger today than it was at the height of the America's Cup.
Built on a strong domestic market, and in spite of New Zealand's geographic isolation, the industry has developed into an internationally credible supplier of innovative products and some of the finest boats in the world in a cost effective manner. "In 2006, selling vessels, marine accessories and services to the rest of the world accounted for an invaluable 34% of the New Zealand marine industry's total output - over half a billion dollars worth!" says Peter Busfield , Executive Director of the Marine Industry Association.
Since the successful merger of IMTEC Marine Equipment Show with the Marine Industry Association's On Water Boat Show, the Auckland International Boat Show has grown to be an internationally recognised and respected show, leveraging New Zealand's reputation for quality and innovation in the local and offshore markets.
The Auckland International Boat Show is a full member of the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO) and is now recognised as one of the top 40 boat shows in the world.
The Marine Industry Association is also pleased to announce Line 7 as the official clothing supplier, and thank Boating New Zealand, Bellingham Marine, Auckland City and Viaduct Harbour for their ongoing support.
