National President Don McIver said Private Mila has made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of his country.

“Private Kirifi Mila was a popular young man and we feel his loss.”

“Our deepest sympathies are with all those who loved and cared for Private Mila – his family, friends and comrades”, he said.

“Our thoughts are also with the three injured soldiers and their families.”

At RSAs throughout the country flags will fly at half-mast over the next few days as a tribute to Private Mila.
