The note covers:
* the Royal Commission preliminary hearing on 5 April in Greymouth
* the intention to hold 15 weeks of hearings on Pike River, beginning 6 May and ending 4 November
* what those hearings will cover (including the cause of loss of life and the cause of the explosions and other specific issues)
* who will give evidence at the hearings and what their standing will be (three main groups: Government departments and families of the deceased; mining and related industries/Public Service Association; witnesses and submitters)
