Whangarei residents invited to book presentation by Mayor
Whangarei residents invited to book presentation by WDC Mayor, Deputy Mayor and CEO
Whangarei District Council is going to the community with a presentation of its vision for the District's future.
Mayor Morris Cutforth, Deputy Mayor Phil Halse and CEO Mark Simpson have prepared a presentation titled "Whangarei at the Crossroads" which examines the issues facing the District over the next three to five decades.
Mr Simpson said the Sustainable Futures 30/50 Growth Strategy completed by Council last year threw sharply into focus that Whangarei District had important decisions to make on the social and economic direction it took.
"The presentation 'Whangarei at the Crossroads' offers some options for the investment decisions Council must make. The series of meetings we will hold in the community is an opportunity for residents to weigh up those options and offer alternatives as we continue to make our District an attractive and affordable place to live," he said.
Council is contacting community groups to arrange meetings at which the presentation will be made. If you are part of a group that would like to receive the presentation please phone Coordinator Jan Walters on 09 430 4254.
