Medical Patient Transported from Raumati Beach
Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter transports a Medical Patient from Raumati Beach

At 11:20 am this morning the Life Flight Trust responded with the Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter to a patient in Raumati Beach south of Paraparaumu.
Life Flight responded with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic on board the Westpac Rescue Helicopter The Helicopter was able to land on the road next to where the patient was located.
The male was being treated at the scene by a Wellington Free Ambulance crew.
The Helicopter Paramedics performed an advanced technique known as RSI - rapid sequence intubation - where a tube was inserted into the man's mouth to help his breathing.
The patient a 71yr old male from Waikanae was flown to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he is being further assessed.
The Life Flight Trust is a charity providing air rescue and air ambulance services. It operates the Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter and a national air ambulance service.
