Southern Motorway crash causing delays in Auckland
The NZ Transport says a crash has closed two of the three southbound lanes of the Southern Motorway (State Highway 1) near the Mt Wellington interchange in Auckland.
The crash involves three vehicles and emergency services – the Police, fire and ambulance – are at the scene.
Although one southbound motorway lane remains open, traffic is building up at the start of the afternoon peak and drivers face delays until the crashed vehicles are cleared.
The NZTA advises drivers heading south to either wait before starting their journeys or to use alternative routes.
