Wellington Hospitality open for business
Wellington's bars and restaurants had some mopping up to do after Sunday's quake but are emphatically open for business, says the President of the Wellington Branch of Hospitality NZ Jeremy Smith.
"We want everyone to know they can come out for a beer and a meal and some company" he said.
At Four Kings owner Matt McLaughlin said they suffered one broken window but no bottles fell from the shelves at all. "The structural engineers have checked us out and we are good to go", he said as he prepared for the usual Tuesday night quiz. His other businesses, The Pub on the Terrace and Electric Avenue, suffered no damage at all.
Owner of Lueven, Avida, Ombra and the Featherston Russel Scott, said his premises were undamaged apart from a few broken bottles and they are looking forward to the city getting back to normal as quickly as possible.
