HBRC’s LEAF Fund Well Used by Local Groups
Eleven local groups and their environment projects are being assisted this financial year by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s LEAF fund.
Non-profit groups, schools and small businesses with environmental projects in Hawke’s Bay can apply to the fund for a small grant of up to $500 to assist with tools and materials. The LEAF fund is limited to $5000 and applications open on 1 July each year.
This year $4933.84 will be used by the successful applicants –
Forest & Bird Central Hawke’s Bay
Kimi Ora Community School in Flaxmere
Argyll East School
Camberley Kindergarten
Patoka Rural Kindergarten in Napier
Guthrie Smith Trust, Tutira
Port Ahuriri Early Childhood Centre
Village Kids Childcare, Te Mata Road and Napier Road centres, Havelock North
Eskdale School
Matangirua Kindergarten in Wairoa.
The funds will help a lot of different projects including: timber for raised gardens, lifetime labels for native trees, vegetable seedlings, mushroom kit, compost bins, worm farms, a sensory indoor garden and riparian plants for a stream.
