Special family to light the Sky Tower
Special family to light the Sky Tower with Santa for Christmas
Tonight, the Belz family from KidzFirst Children’s Hospital will have a Christmas experience like no other, helping Santa light the largest ‘Christmas Tree’ in Auckland, the Sky Tower.
Stephanie and Kevin, and their two children Jack (10) and Charlotte (8), will flick the switch with Santa this evening to light the Sky Tower red and green for the month of Christmas.
The family are known as ‘frequent fliers’ at KidzFirst Children’s Hospital, due to a number of visits, both large and small, including support with Jack’s hearing problems and for Charlotte to have a cyst removed from her neck.
The Sky Tower will be lit from 1 December to Christmas Day, with dazzling red and green stripes at the top, mimicking red tinsel around a Christmas tree.
SKYCITY has supported KidzFirst for almost a decade. SKYCITY often lights the Tower for charities or community initiatives, or to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations.
The Sky Tower is New Zealand’s tallest man-made structure and SKYCITY frequently lights the Sky Tower to show support for a number of organisations and special events.
