Hutt Valley Police make arrest following incident
Hutt Valley Police make arrest following incident involving school girls
Yesterday Hutt Valley Police arrested a 52 year old man in relation to an incident involving two young girls on their way to school.
The man has been charged with Assaults Child and will appear in the Hutt Valley District Court on Tuesday 15 March. He has been bailed to a private address until his next appearance.
Police would like to assure the public that very early on in our enquiries we had a strong indication of who the suspect was. While we cannot go in to details, we are confident that there is no on-going risk to children in the area in relation to this incident.
Yesterday’s arrest came as a combined result of thorough investigative work by Police and strong support from the school and local community.
Police would like to reiterate yesterday’s safety messages and urge all parents to regularly speak to their children about staying safe.
