Stokes Valley Library moving
temporarily
In preparation for the development of the new Stokes Valley Hub, the Stokes Valley Library will be moving a few minutes’ walk down the road to a temporary location at the Stokes Valley Freemasons Lodge Hall, 162 Stokes Valley Road.
Thursday 15 September is the last day for the library at its current location before it closes and reopens on Monday 19 September at the Stokes Valley Freemasons Lodge Hall. The library will have the same opening hours as before, 10am-5.30pm Monday toFriday and 10am-2pm on Saturday, but some programmes may be different.
Sandra Mann, Hutt City Libraries Manager, says “Thank you to the Stokes Valley Freemasons Lodge for sharing their space with us and helping us maintain library services for the community.”
Also helping are Koraunui, Tawhai and Tui Glen schools, who will be creating a human chain of books between the old library and the hall to help in the move.
There will be a farewell event for the current library and community hall on Saturday 24 September. This event will feature an afternoon of fun, free activities and entertainment including face-painting, dancing, and rock ‘n’ roll lessons. You can checklibrary.huttcity.govt.nz for more information on the farewell event and the move.
