SH6 closed by slip
The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists State Highway 6 between Fox Glacier and Franz Josef has been closed following a slip.
Contractors have been on site to access the damage and work to clear the slip will begin first thing in the morning. Given the road layout, no detour is available.
An update will be posted on our website and social media pages as soon as the work on State Highway 6 is completed and the road is able to be reopened.
The NZ Transport Agency wants to thank road users for their understanding and patience.
