State Highway 29 Takitimu Drive Toll Road, Tauranga closure
11 May 2018
The Takitimu Drive Toll Road is to
close for at least 14 hours overnight Saturday 19 May while
the new cycling and walking bridge is lifted in to
place.
The closure will take place from 6pm Saturday 19 May to 8am Sunday 20 May, weather permitting. A short detour will be in place. The detour is suitable for heavy vehicles.
The closure is scheduled for Saturday night because traffic volumes are lower.
The bridge design has had input from Tauranga City Council, Ngai Tamarawaho and the NZ Transport Agency. It is part of an Urban Cycleways Programme project jointly funded by the Urban Cycleways Fund and Tauranga City Council.
