All lanes now open on State Highway 16 at Western Springs
2 July 2018
The NZ Transport Agency advises Auckland motorists that all city-bound lanes have reopened on State Highway 16 at Western Springs.
Police closed all city-bound lanes for four hours after the crash involving a motorcyclist and a rubbish truck just after the off ramp.
Traffic backed up on SH16, SH18 and SH20. It’s now flowing freely past the crash site but there is a backlog that will take some time to clear. There’s also congestion on arterial routes, says Auckland Operations Manager Rua Pani.
The Transport Agency advises motorists to avoid the area this morning or delay their journeys. The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and understanding.
