ORC’s ECO Fund open for applications
4 September 2018
Otago Regional Council’s (ORC) ECO
Fund supports community-driven projects that support or
enhance Otago’s environment, and is now open for funding
applications.
The ECO Fund’s point of difference from a number of other funds is that it supports not only tools and equipment, but also administrative support.
ORC received a lot of feedback from the community stating there was abundance of funds to support capital expenditure but few that offered funding for positions, or work on strategies or catchment plans.
“We have already seen some great environmental work by the Otago community and we are excited to see how this fund will empower communities and individuals to tackle environmental issues further,” said Sian Sutton, Director Stakeholder Engagement.
Applications for the first funding round close on 20 September.
For more information on the fund and how to apply see the ORC website at www.orc.govt.nz/ecofund
