Lane Closure On Golf Road During School Holidays
Council is investing in Tauranga’s roads to improve safety and performance. As part of this wider programme, a new signalised pedestrian crossing will be constructed on Golf Road.
This will require a temporary lane closure on Golf Road, between Maunganui Road and Waitui Grove, for traffic coming from the Maunganui Road roundabout.
Construction is expected to start today, Monday 11 July, and take about two weeks, to coincide with lower traffic during school holidays.
This pedestrian crossing is part of council’s work to create a safer environment for kids to walk or cycle to and from school in the area. Wider shared paths on Links Avenue and Maunganui Road are also part of the plan. The new crossing will be located on Golf Road between Waitui Grove and Links Avenue.
There will be alternative routes in place via Tui Street, Ranch Road and Spur Avenue. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Council apologises for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciates people’s patience during construction.
