Porirua City Council Elections Update
We are currently awaiting a decision of the District Court on a recount application filed by Parirua Māori Ward candidate Jess Te Huia.
The court has today advised that mid-November is the earliest a decision will be made on whether the application proceeds to a full recount. If it does proceed, the recount will occur shortly after, with a final ruling to follow.
In the meantime, we are unable to swear in the Council or hold meetings. Once the court has made final rulings we will schedule our inaugural meeting, with the required seven day notice period. As it stands, this is likely to be late November at the earliest.
