SH1 Loop Road Safety Improvements Stage 2 – Updates On Detour Dates
Due to unfavourable weather conditions, the dates for a planned detour on State Highway 1 (SH1) between Portland Road and State Highway 15 (SH15) roundabout have changed.
The detour will now be in place for up to 5 nights between Sunday 2 November and Thursday 6 November, from 6pm to 5:30am. See map below.
SH1 will be fully operational all other times.
This detour is necessary to construct the final asphalt surfacing on the southbound and northbound lanes. Following the detour, stop/go will be in place to complete the final work on the project.
In the event of weather delays, the closure could be pushed back until the next fine weather window. Weather permitting, the project is due to be completed in mid-November.
