Delays On West Coast Highway As Safety Work Carried Out
Road users should be prepared for daytime delays of 30 minutes on State Highway 6/Coast Road between Greymouth and Westport in the coming days as rock scaling work is carried out to keep people safe.
Meybille Bay, near Punakaiki, has been the site of numerous slips over recent years, including earlier this year. The rock scaling is to reduce the risk of further rockfall.
Those travelling on SH6/Coast Road past Meybille Bay can expect the delays as traffic is halted at times between 7am and 6pm on Friday 12 December, and from Monday 15 December through to Friday 19 December.
We thank people in advance for their patience as this important work is carried out.

The work may be postponed if the weather is poor, and if this happens, notification will be given in advance. You can stay up to date on highway traffic restrictions at our Journey Planner site.
