Night Closures For Part Of Christchurch’s Brougham Street

A series of night closures are planned for part of State Highway 76/Brougham Street later this month as important maintenance work is carried out.
The closures for the section of SH76/Brougham Street between Ensors Road and Garlands Road are scheduled for 6pm to 6am, Sunday 18 January to Wednesday 21 January. These will allow the necessary road paving and tree trimming work to be carried out safely.
A detour will be available for westbound travel by turning right onto Garlands Road, left onto Ferry Road, left onto Ensors Road, and then right back onto Brougham Street. The reverse applies for eastbound travel.
Road users are asked to plan their travel accordingly during these times. This planned maintenance work and associated closures are subject to weather conditions and other factors that may mean postponement at short notice. If the work is postponed, notification will be provided.
This maintenance work is separate to the SH76/Brougham Street Upgrade project, which began last year and includes a new pedestrian and cycle bridge at Collins and Simeon Streets. Find out more about this project and its progress here.
