WHY LION MUST FIGHT FOR MONTANA The bitter struggle for control of Montana is just warming up. Lion Nathan has been thoroughly outflanked by its arch-rival, Foster's Group, and cannot afford to lose its grip on New Zealand's largest wine company. The loss of control would be a psychological blow to Lion and a big setback to its diversification plans. NEW BREWERY OPENS IN VICTORIA Jamieson Brewery has just opened in Jamieson, Victoria, Australia. After importing a 1200ltr brewery from NZ in August 2000, we currently have two beers on tap - Jamieson Premium Ale & Jamieson Brown Ale. Recipies are being formulated for Stout & Ginger Beer. BREW NZ APPOINTS DIRECTOR Food and beer expert Kerry Tyack has been appointed director of a new event celebrating beer in Wellington next year. Brew NZ, Celebrating Great Beers, is a three-day public event to be held during May 2002.
