Screenwriting / Film Event At City Cinema
The New Zealand Writers Foundation
CALLING ALL WRITERS! A NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR UNIQUE AND COMPELLING SCRIPTS
The New Zealand Writers Foundation, in partnership with the New Zealand Film Commission, is proud to announce the inaugural New Zealand Screenwriters Laboratory, to be held in February 2002. Find out how you and your feature film script could spend a week sequestered in a retreat location with some of the world's top screenwriters.
Modeled on the labs run by the Sundance Institute, USA, and Moonstone International, UK, this unique system of inspirational mentorship and deep story analysis has been described by former participants as a "life transforming" experience. Because we are looking for great New Zealand stories, we welcome the participation of writers from all storytelling mediums - film, television, theatre, literature, music and new media.
In Wellington 22 June @ 8pm - CITY CINEMA, CITY GALLERY, Civic Sq, 101 Wakefield St. Admission free:
Alison Maclean award-winning NZ screenwriter and film director (Jesus' Son, Crush, Kitchen Sink) has flown in from New York City to talk about her experiences at the Sundance Institute Laboratory and how it benefited her own work.
Angela Zivkovic Project Manager of the NZ Writers Foundation, will talk about how you could be part of this innovative workshop process and how the New Zealand Screenwriters Laboratory will facilitate the creation of great New Zealand scripts.
